This was a fun replica - straightforward due to it's lack of shadows or gradients.
As with other projects, I started from the rear and built my way forward. Mario's cap and right leg are in the background and by building these first I didn't have to get too bogged down with z-indexes.
The hands were a little bit tricky, mainly because I wasn't too experienced with linear or radial gradients yet and so the fingers were built exclusively using divs with border-radius and canceling elements on top.
