The Brief
My brother needed a new website to present his portfolio, research and teaching credentials to colleagues and students in academia. Specifically, he was looking for a way to present his research papers as a dynamic and expandable grid that would easily showcase quantity while still remaining accessible to the casual user.
The Approach
I came up with a fixed and contained layout that scales well to different viewports. For the research grid, I used flex "cards" that expand from circular dots to full height, clickable abstracts on their respective hover states. This grid shows the quantity of projects in a simple format while also allowing for an expanded and more detailed view. The popup abstracts include a link to read full articles.
